Keeping it simple is a good place to start. We do things with centuries of experience. Some things don't change. We learn by creative observation rather than genetic manipulation. Just look around. What is happening? The world is changing. Good things remain the same.

Mow Mashers, Soil Smashers
Another thing about reel mowing, it is better for your lawn. Grass doesn't grow well on asphalt and concrete, so why drive on it? Things that require combustion tend to operate like a jack hammer. Lighten up. It doesn't hurt.

Thatch
Thatch tends to keep the good stuff out, and bad stuff in, like pests and mold. Organic lawns rarely have a problem with thatch. Organic soil has healthy microorganisms which eat thatch much quicker than on a chemical diet.
